The Department of Criminal Procedure, Detective and Investigative Activities is one of the most powerful departments at the university which trains full-time and part-time students in the field of criminal procedure. The department is a part of the Faculty of Prosecution and Investigation (Criminal Justice) and has 26 lectures, among them there are four Doctors of Law and 21 Candidates of Law Sciences.
The main goal of the department scientific and academic activity is training of highly qualified personnel to work at the prosecutor's offices, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine, State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, State Criminal Enforcement Service of Ukraine, State Border Guard of Ukraine, State Bureau of Investigation, National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and other law enforcement agencies and human rights protection bodies. The department academic staff regularly participates in the arranging and giving lectures and trainings for judicial and law enforcement agencies personnel in order to improve their qualifications.
The Department of Criminal Procedure, Detective and Investigation Activities teaches the following courses Criminal Procedure, Criminology, Criminal Enforcement Law, Theory of Evidence within Criminal Proceedings; Drafting Procedural Documents within Criminal Proceedings; International Legal Assistance within criminal proceedings; Conducting Investigative (search) Actions; Pre-trial Investigation; Trial Proceedings; Criminal Procedural Acts; Basics ofDdetective and Investigative Activities; International Cooperation in Criminal Justice; ECHR Practice within Criminal Proceedings; Protection of Rights within ECHR Criminal Proceedings; Defense and Representation within Criminal Proceedings; Criminal Proceedings of European Countries; Covert Actions in Law Enforcement Activities; Judicial Protection of Rights within Criminal Proceedings; Victimological Crime Prevention; Determination of Crime in Ukraine.
The contents of the courses taught by the department reflect the current issues of Ukrainian modern criminal procedural and criminological doctrine.
