The National University "Odessa Law Academy" traditionally invites leading foreign lawyers to take part in the educational process. This academic year is not an exception and on September 4 the first meeting of students with a foreign colleague was held.
On the initiative of the Department of Constitutional Law, a judge of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a member of the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture Jeyhun Garajayev gave a lecture to the students of judicial and administrative faculty.
Jeyhun Garajayev is one of the most worthy representatives of Odessa School of Law. In Odessa, he received his legal education and took the first steps in the science of constitutional law.
It is also symbolic that this meeting was held with students getting master’s degree at Judicial and Administrative Faculty, who have just started studying an academic discipline "Constitutional Procedural Law".
Lecture of the judge Jeyhun Garajayev was devoted to the correlation of constitutional law and constitutional procedural law, as well as to the analysis of role of the bodies of constitutional justice in providing such constitutional value as justice. The lecturer used numerous examples from the jurisprudence of Azerbaijan, Germany, Russia, France, the European Court of Human Rights.
After the lecture, Jeyhun Garajayev answered questions of Ukrainian students concerning specific features of formation, competence and organization of the activities of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Department of Constitutional Law of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" prepares talented specialists. Five future judges of the Constitutional Courts of Ukraine and other states defended dissertations for the degree of Candidate of Legal Sciences at this department. In addition, professors of the department for more than 20 years are advisers of the Constitutional Court of Ukraine.
