Thematic Class “20 Steps in 20 Years” with Participation of Foreign Students was Held

With the support of the administration of the National University "Odessa Law Academy", a joint thematic class on the subject "Ukrainian (Russian) Language as a Foreign Language" was held, dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the National University "Odessa Law Academy". The event was organized by the Department of Foreign Languages ​​No. 1. Honorary guests of the festive class were vice rector for international relations Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov, head of International Relations Office Associate Professor Vadym Barskyy, Associate Professor of the Department of Labor Law and Social Security Law Oksana Tryukhan.Participants of the event were foreign students of different faculties and specialties.

The class started with the greetings of the senior teacher Irina Silvanovskaya, who emphasized that the National University "Odessa Law Academy" has the great traditions of training lawyers for foreign countries. Since the first years of the Law Academy as an independent educational institution, a large number of foreign students and graduate students studied there. At present a lot of students and graduate students from Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Nigeria, Moldova, Ghana, Guinea, Russia, Zimbabwe, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Romania, Tajikistan, Israel, and Denmark participate in the university's scientific, cultural and sport activities.

The first report on the history of legal education in the south of Ukraine was presented by the 3rd year student of the faculty of international legal relations, a Turkmen citizen, Oman Durdiguliyev. Next, the student of the 4th course of the Institute of Criminal Justice, Azerbaijani citizen Elchin Pashayev gave a speech about the contribution of university scientists to the development of domestic jurisprudence, namely formation of academic schools of Academician Sergey Kivalov, Professor Mark Orzikh, Professor Evgeniy Dodin, Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov and others.

The 3rd year student of the faculty of international legal relations, Nigerian Citizen Abraham Faith Abel told audience about the University's achievements in the field of international cooperation.

Then foreign students demonstrated their level of proficiency in Ukrainian and Russian, and presented countries they are from. Students from the Republic of Moldova, Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan gave a speech about the history, traditions and state symbols of their countries, students from Ghana and Guinea talked about the state system of their countries and even sang national hymns, and students from Russia, Azerbaijan and Zimbabwe congratulated everybody with poems about Ukraine.

On behalf of the president of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" foreign students were congratulated by the vice rector on international relations Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov. He also told the audience about the geography of graduates of the National University "Odessa Law Academy", which over the past 20 years encompasses about 1500 people from Azerbaijan, Angola, Armenia, Afghanistan, Belarus, Bulgaria, Vietnam, Ghana, Georgia, Denmark, Zimbabwe, Israel, Jordan, Iran, Iraq, Iran, Yemen, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Kenya, China, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Mongolia, Namibia, Nigeria, Palestine, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Serbia, Syria, Somalia, USA, Tanzania, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Germany, Uzbekistan. Many foreign graduates of the University have occupied high-ranking positions in the political, economic and legal spheres in their homeland.
