The module 'The EU's Comprehensive Approach to Security: Tackling Evolving Threats, Building a Strong Security Ecosystem' received high marks from experts and was recognised as one of the winners of the competition held by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Commission. The project will be jointly implemented by the Department of Journalism and the Department of Maritime and Customs Law of the National University "Odesa Law Academy". As explained by the module leader, Professor of the Department of Journalism Tetiana Maliarenko, the core of the module is an innovative course on European Security, which will be jointly taught in English for Master's students of International Journalism and Public Administration and Governance by the faculty of the Departments of Journalism and Maritime and Customs Law.
The Department of Journalism is responsible for teaching topics related to the theoretical foundations of European security, the EU's approach to conflict resolution, information security, and the Department of Maritime and Customs Law is responsible for teaching topics related to border security, environmental security, maritime security, etc. Leading international experts from the University of Birmingham, UK, Uppsala University, Sweden and the University of Catania, Italy will also be involved in teaching.
