The department was created on the basis of the order of the National University «Odessa Law Academy» Rector dated June 9, 2016.
The main goal of the department's work - is the formation of the students' knowledge system in the field of public law, the training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel, as well as participation in the university scientific and research work.
The activity of the department is focused on ensuring the educational process and conducting scientific and applied research in the field of public law, based on the priority of human rights and fundamental freedoms and the development of the rule of law in Ukraine.
The Department of International, Constitutional and Administrative Law is a part of the Ivano-Frankivsk Educational and Scientific Law Institute of the National University «Odessa Law Academy» and prepares full-time and part-time specialists.
The main goal of the department's work is - the formation of the students' knowledge system in the field of international, constitutional, administrative, administrative-procedural law, the training of highly qualified scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel, as well as participation in the university research work.
The department provides teaching of the following academic disciplines: «International Law», «Constitutional Law», «Modern International Private and Public Law», «International Legal Protection of Human Rights», «European Union Law», «Administrative Law», «Administrative Justice», «Fundamentals of Roman private Law», «Financial Law», «Constitutional Justice», «Modern Administrative Studies», «ECHR Rights Protection», «Modern Constitutionalism», «Fundamentals of Economics».
The interaction of the department of International, Constitutional and Administrative law is accompanied by active cooperation with judicial, law enforcement and human rights bodies of Ukraine, by studying problematic issues of legislative support. Scientific and practical activities, discussions, round tables, conferences, meetings with the employees of the prosecutor's office, the police and the court are constantly held. The department develops recommendations for improving the legal support of the activities of the bodies in question, which provides an opportunity to promote the active work of teachers, students and practical workers.
The philosophy of the department's development is aimed at the application of interactive methods of teaching legal disciplines in order to train highly qualified specialists in the field of law. All disciplines assigned to the departmentare provided with educational-methodical materials. In the context of this work, the team of the department has developed more than 18 educational and methodological complexes for students of full-time and part-time forms of education and more than 20 educational and methodological manuals.
Based on the results of scientific research, the teaching staff has published more than 80 professional articles in scientific publications, more than 70 theses of reports of scientific and practical conferences, educational and methodological manuals, individually and in co-authorship.
Since 2021, the staff of the department has been carrying out scientific research on the topic: "Ensuring international legal standards of human rights in the digital era" for 2021-2025 (scientific supervisor, head of the department, Assoc. Prof. Hablei N.H.).
The teaching staff of the department systematically participates in international and all-Ukrainian scientific conferences, round tables, scientific seminars, in the organization and implementation of educational events, in particular in the annual All-Ukrainian scientific and practical conference "The Legal System of Ukraine: Current State and Current Problems (Ivano-Frankivsk), in the international scientific and practical conference «European choice of Ukraine, development of science and national security in the realities of large-scale military aggression and global challenges of the 21st century» (to the 25th anniversary of the National University «Odessa Law Academy» and the 175th anniversary of the Odessa School of Law).
The scientific circle «Human rights and freedoms and peculiarities of their implementation in Ukraine» operates at the department under the leadership of department associate professor – Kinash Nataliia Bohdanivna. The activities of the circle are aimed at developing the creative abilities of students with the aim of acquiring professional and personal competencies, as well as the experience of acquiring knowledge and skills through conducting scientific research.
Activities in the circle «Human rights and freedoms and peculiarities of their implementation in Ukraine» provides the necessary combination of mass forms of work (conversations, debates, thematic evenings, discussion of reports, etc.) with mandatory research of an individual topic by each student. Training in a scientific circle has a creative nature and nurtures the qualities of a researcher in a student, enriches and consolidates the knowledge and skills of students, prepares them to solve tasks that are of practical importance for the state.
