From September 24 to September 28 the 13th International Law Competition “Youth for Peace” took place in Minsk, which was attended by students and experts in the field of international law from Great Britain, Poland, the Netherlands, Finland, France, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, Russia and the Republic of Belarus.
The team of National University “Odessa Law Academy”, consisting of the 3rd year students of the Faculty of International Legal Relations Kristina Balanchuk and Yurii Podchenko, as well as the 4th year student of the Faculty of Prosecution and Investigation Artem Bezhik, competed in knowledge of international law with 11 teams from leading universities in Europe and Asia.
The International Law Competition “Youth for Peace” has been arranged as a part of the United Nations Organization’s global initiative “Academic Impact”, uniting the UN higher education institutions to actively support 10 internationally recognized principles on human rights, education, sustainable development and conflict resolution. The main purpose of the contest is supposed to spread the ideas of tolerance and intercultural dialogue among young people and demonstrate the importance of peaceful coexistence of nations. The International Law Competition “Youth for Peace” has no analogues in Eastern Europe, and is one of the three most prestigious European contests in international law.
Leading experts in the field of international law participate in the contest as jury members.
The program of the event also includes a series of open lectures on international law with the participation of the best speakers in the field of international law.
The International Law Competition “Youth for Peace” is already in its thirteenth consecutive year is held with the assistance of the International University “MITSO” (Republic of Belarus).
