In the Scientific Library of the National University "Odessa Law Academy", in the department of rare editions (Museum of book), a series of thematic excursions for the students of the University began, which is being implemented within the framework of cooperation between the library and the Department of History of State and Law.
In order to encourage students to study historical and legal disciplines, as well as to improve the general level of students' culture, on October 23 and 30, 2018, the first excursions to the department of rare and valuable publications of the Scientific Library of National University "Odessa Law Academy" (Museum of book) with the participation of members of a scientific circle of History of the State and Law of Ukraine in co-operation with the students of the first year (23 persons) of the faculties of the Faculty of Civil and Commercial Justice, Faculty of International Legal Relations, Judicial and Administrative Faculty and Faculty of Prosecution and Investigation. Docents Natalia Yefremova and Oksana Goryaga accompanied the listeners.
The theme of the first excursions was devoted to acquaintance with the funds of rare books of the Scientific Library of National University "Odessa Law Academy". A tour was conducted by an employee of the department of rare editions of Scientific library of National University "Odessa Law Academy" Inna Mazur.
During the excursion, the students learned about the difficult history of the formation and development of the Scientific Library of National University "Odessa Law Academy" and the role of libraries in the educational process in society and in state as a whole. The persons, by the efforts of which a lot of "forbidden" at different times literature were preserved, also have been mentioned. Exhibits of valuable editions, which form the spiritual heritage of the Ukrainian people, were also demonstrated, and the importance of preserving such rarities for future generations was reminded.
A special place during the tour took a story about the Peresopnytsia Gospel, one copy of which facsimile edition was presented at the time by His Beatitude Metropolitan Volodymyr, to the rector of Odessa National Law Academy, Academician S. V. Kivalov in 2008.
