Students of National University “Odesa Academy of Law” took part in Salzburg Summer School on European Private Law in July. This international event is organized annually by Law Faculty of Salzburg University. Around 200 participants and professors from more than 30 countries attended the School this year. Understanding and comparison of 30 legal systems and their principles in private law became the goal of Summer School. For two weeks participants attended around 40 lectures, panels and workshops on legal systems of European countries and non-European countries such as China, Canada, Puerto-Rico, Brazil, the USA, etc.
Participants of the Summer School took part in workshops where worked with legal cases on property law, family law and contract law. Students presented how each case could be solved according to the legislation of their countries and Roman Private Law.
In addition to workshops and lectures Law Faculty of Salzburg University held 4 panels during the Summer School on European Private Law: Mixed Legal Systems; Law and Languages; How to Make a New Civil Code; Harmonization of European Private Law.
