The National University "Odesa Law Academy" is a recognised leader in the field of higher education in Ukraine and has been training highly professional specialists in various fields for 25 years. The University is a member of the European University Association and cooperates with the most prestigious higher education institutions around the world. The university's participation in the European Union's ERASMUS+ programme, which aims to support activities in the field of education, retraining, youth and sports, opens up significant opportunities for students. The main goal of the CRIMHUM project within the ERASMUS+ programme was to create a comprehensive Master's programme aimed at in-depth study of current human rights issues.
Within the framework of the ERASMUS+ CRIMHUM project, with the support of the project coordinator, the University of Graz (Austria), the National University "Odesa Law Academy" received modern equipment, including personal computers, multifunctional devices, a server, a projector, a video conferencing system and laptops. On the basis of modern technological equipment, the innovative training programme "Workplace of Investigator, Detective and Inquirer", developed by the university's scientists, was implemented.
The working group that developed the programme included specialists from the Department of Criminal Procedure, Detective and Operational Investigation Activities, the Department of Criminal Law and Criminalistics of the Faculty of Prosecution and Investigation (Criminal Justice). The lecturers include former investigators, operatives and prosecutors, who have drawn on their own experience to create a programme that is as useful as possible for students.
An important component of training highly professional specialists is the acquisition of skills in the use of modern information technologies in practical activities. The advantage of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" is that the specialists of the Faculty of Cybersecurity and Information Technology are actively involved in the development of various applications used in the educational process.
Given that the CRIMHUM project has been implemented at the National University "Odesa Law Academy" since 2019, there are already graduates of this Master's programme who have appreciated all its benefits from a practical point of view.
Despite all the challenges of today, the National University "Odesa Law Academy" continues to work and provide a high level of education. Thanks to the safe conditions created - the available storage facilities in the academic buildings and dormitories - the training takes place in the classroom. The higher education institution aims to continue to introduce innovations, as well as to maintain and develop international partnerships for the quality training of highly qualified specialists.
