The subject matter of research work of the Faculty of Labour and Social Security Law are the problems of legal regulation of labour and social security relations under conditions of market economy. In the context of this problem the following directions are investigated: “Collective Labour Rights: International Standards and Legislation of Ukraine” (H.I. Chanysheva), “Development of Social Insurance in Modern Conditions” (Professor I.M. Syrota); “Legal Aspect of Social Standardization of Medical Aid in Ukraine” (Candidate of Law O.S. Shchukin), ‘Social Protection of Disabled Children in Ukraine’ (Associate Professor V.S. Tarasenko), ‘Social Dialogue in the Sphere of Labour’ (Associate Professor O.A. Tryukhan), ‘Protection of Labour Rights of Workers’ (Candidate of Law I.V. Lagutina), etc.
In the past decade the teachers of the department have prepared and published a monograph, textbooks, study guides on labour law and social security law, scientific and practical comments, reference books which were appreciated by the leading lawyers of Ukraine. Among them are: monograph “Collective Labour Relations in the Sphere of Labour: Theoretical and Legal Aspect” by G.I. Chanysheva; textbook “Legal Social Security in Ukraine” by I.M. Syrota, awarded the diploma of the Lawyers Association of Ukraine and the third prize in nomination “Legal Textbooks” at the IV All-Ukrainian Contest for the Best Legal Edition 2000-2001; textbook “Labour Law of Ukraine” (collective work of the staff under the editorship of N.B. Bolotina, G.I. Chanysheva) awarded the second prize in nomination “Legal Textbooks” at the III All-Ukrainian Contest for the Best Legal Edition 1999-2000; scientific and practical commentary “All You Need to Know about Pensions, Allowances and Social Protection of Citizens of Ukraine” by Professor I.Ì. Syrota; manual for practical work in the area of labour law of Ukraine (authors: G.I. Chanysheva, N.B. Bolotina, T.M. Dodina and A.L. Oleinikov) awarded the second prize in nomination “Legal Study Guides” at the All-Ukrainian Contest for the Best Legal Edition 2003-2004.
