FACULTY OF CIVIL AND ECONOMIC JUSTICEThe field of civil relations is the most widespread in any constitutional state. Modern civil society needs specialists in the sphere of justice, especially for work in judicial bodies, notary public offices, legal profession and organs of tax administrations. At Odessa National Law Academy the students of the Faculty of Civil and Economic justice study special subjects to work in these branches.
The Faculty of Civil and Economic jurisprudence is deeply rooted in the history of foundation and development of Odessa National Law Academy. The Department of Civil Law, Civil Judicial System and Legal Proceedings of Novorossiyskiy (Odessa) university (est. 1865), can be considered the germ of the Faculty. The Faculty of Civil Law and Enterprise was established on the basis of the Faculty of Justice and Administration of Justice and Legal Work in the National Economy of Juridical Institute of Odessa State University in December 1997. The first dean of the Faculty was Candidate of Law, Associate Professor I.A.Dryshliuk. He headed the Faculty until September 2000. Later on, the Faculty of Civil Law and Enterprise was in charge of Candidate of Law, Professor M.R.Arakelyan, who took up the general tendency of the Academy’s development and achieved great results and created an auspicious atmosphere for students’ full-fledged teaching. In 2005 the Faculty was given the name of the Faculty of Civil and Economic Justice. Since then it has been headed by Candidate of Law, Associate Professor V.N.Podgorodinsky. The Faculty of Civil Law and Economic Justice is located in a separate building equipped with computer classes, specialized auditoriums for lectures and practical classes that meet international standards of education. Here, students deeply study civil law, civil process, legal security of economic activity, legal security of external economic activity and relations concerning property estate.
Scientific research work of the Faculty’s departments (Departments of Civil Law, Civil Process, Agrarian, Land and Ecological Law, Entrepreneurial and Commercial Law) helps to improve the quality and level of educational process and scientific theoretical knowledge of students. Scientific works of Professor Chervony Yu. S., Professor Kharitonov E. O., Professor Karakash I. I., Professor Kharitonova E. I. and other scientists are very popular on the territory of Ukraine and abroad.
