The Department of Foreign Languages No.2 is part of the Faculty of International Legal Relations and provides full-time and part-time training at all faculties and institutes of the National University "Odessa Law Academy".

The magistral personnel of the Chair provides basic training for all students of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" in the framework of following subjects: English, German, French, and Latin. Proficiency in foreign languages is a prerequisite for legal students, which is practically applied while studying foreign sources, as well as in the course of foreing internship or intenrational cooperation.

The department cooperates with the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), which provides scholarships for students willing to study at German universities (summer language courses, master's degree, scholarships for graduate students and young scientists). DAAD lecturers regularly give presentations and reports on the programs that this service offers to all students of Ukrainian universities. Also, a representative of this organization within the walls of the Odessa Law Academy conducts an onDaF test to determine the level of knowledge of the German language with the issuance of an appropriate certificate, which is required to participate in the competition for a DAAD scholarship.

The department also maintains relations with the cultural centers of France - "Alliance Française" and Germany - "Bayerisches Haus, Odessa".

The department of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" supports guest lectures and seminars which are held by foreign legal experts. For example, the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM), Mr. Udo Burkholder, regularly shares his knowledge with students. Besides, the lectures were given by a German lawyer, specialist in German Administrative Law, Dr. Sven Gottschalkson and Hakan Hackeri, Professor of the Istanbul University. Thus, students have the opportunity to both apply their knowledge of the German language and get acquainted with the legal system of Germany. Students are invited to give their reports and presentations directly to the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine.
