Doctor of Law, Professor

An appropriate level of research activity at the National University “Odesa Law Academy” is ensured through the work of the Research Department, which is directly subordinate to the Vice-Rector for Research.

The purpose of the Research Department’s activity is to obtain and apply new scientific knowledge to ensure high-quality training of scientific and academic staff of the highest qualification, as well as specialists in relevant fields of law and economics; to solve complex tasks in the field of scientific development; and to implement and utilize scientific and applied research results produced by the University’s scholars.

This purpose is specified through the tasks assigned to the unit. The Research Department organizes and coordinates the scientific activity of the institution, ensures the planning and implementation of fundamental and applied research in accordance with strategic priorities and societal needs. It facilitates the organization of scientific events—conferences, round tables, seminars, scientific and practical discussions, and competitions of scientific works by higher education students and academic staff—thus promoting the dissemination of research results and the exchange of experience. An important component of its activity is reporting and information-analytical work, which includes the preparation of scientific reports, statistical summaries, analytical materials, as well as the recording and systematization of achievements of academic staff and higher education students. The unit also ensures the integration of the institution into the international scientific community through participation in international programs and projects, stimulation of publication activity in national and foreign professional journals, and the establishment of partnership contacts with foreign institutions. Considerable attention is paid to the legal and organizational support of scientific activity, the formalization of research results in accordance with standards, and the preparation of grant and competition applications. At the same time, the Research Department contributes to the development of scientific human resources by involving higher education students and young researchers in research activities, creating conditions for advanced training, professional growth, and the formation of skills for independent scientific work.
