Authorised person for the prevention and detection of corruption

The institution of the authorised person for the prevention and detection of corruption was introduced to ensure the integrity and transparency of all structural units of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" in the course of educational, scientific and administrative and economic procedures.

Impartiality. The Authorised Person is accountable and controlled exclusively by the President and Rector of the National University "OLA" and exclusively within the organisational powers of the latter related to the implementation of anti-corruption activities at the University.

Vice-rectors, deans, heads of departments, heads and other employees of the University's structural units do not and cannot have any influence on the activities of the Authorised Person.

Therefore, reporting possible facts of corruption or corruption-related offences to the Commissioner is an effective and protected way to prevent and/or overcome corruption risks in higher education institutions.

The main types of corruption risks that exist in Ukrainian higher education institutions are: abuse during entrance examinations; extortion/granting of undue benefits in exchange for grades; use of official position to influence faculty and staff; abuse related to writing and preparing for the defence of qualification papers; abuse during admission to and study in postgraduate (doctoral) studies; abuse in the award of bonuses or other incentive payments; abuse in the placement of students and staff in a group

All reports shall be reviewed personally and confidentially by the authorised person for the prevention and detection of corruption of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" in accordance with the procedure established by the Law of Ukraine "On Prevention of Corruption".
