The Kryvyi Rih Educational and Scientific Institute is a structural unit of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” located in the Dnipro region. The Institute is known for its close-knit, supportive atmosphere, personalized approach to students, and high-quality legal education.
The Institute was established by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine on June 15, 1998 (Order No. 218) as the Kryvyi Rih Training Center of the Odesa Law Academy. In 2010, it was reorganized into the Kryvyi Rih Faculty of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” and, on September 24, 2025, by the University Academic Council decision, it was transformed into the Kryvyi Rih Educational and Scientific Institute.
The Institute was created to meet the region’s demand for qualified legal professionals for courts, law enforcement agencies, public administration, enterprises, and organizations in Kryvyi Rih, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, and neighboring regions.
Currently, the Institute offers higher education programs at the following levels:
Bachelor:
Law (programs in Criminal Justice and Civil & Commercial Justice)
Master:
Law (programs in Criminal Justice and Civil & Commercial Justice)
Law Enforcement Activities
The Institute serves over 500 students from nearly all regions of Ukraine. It is a center for legal education and research, hosting highly qualified staff, including three professors, three doctoral and eight PhD holders, supported by a new generation of scholars across three departments. The Institute has agreements with the Military Training Department, offers master’s programs, and continues to improve its educational infrastructure.
The campus is located on the city’s main avenue, Prospekt Myru, in the Metallurgical District. The 2,517 m² main building includes lecture halls, specialized classrooms, laboratories, a unique legal e-library, and a spacious library with 78 reading seats and over 30,000 printed publications. Students have free Wi-Fi and unlimited access to electronic resources in the Institute’s IT and Cybersecurity Center.
The Institute’s facilities support both academic and social needs, including a modern sports complex with a sports ground, gym, tatami-covered hall, table tennis room, and shower/changing facilities. Additional amenities include a student cafeteria (“Themis”) and a fully equipped shelter. Accommodation is provided for students from other cities.
Faculty and students actively engage in research, publishing in leading national and scientific journals to advance legal science. A Career Support Center coordinates employment opportunities, helping graduates find their first professional positions.
The Institute regularly wins city-wide competitions for campus improvement among higher education institutions in Kryvyi Rih, reflecting its commitment to excellence in both education and campus life.
