The Department of Land, Environmental, and Energy Law received its new name in 2025 as a result of reorganization, replacing its previous title – Department of Agrarian, Land, and Environmental Law. The department provides training for full-time and part-time students across all faculties and institutes of the National University ‘Odesa Law Academy’.

The main goal of the department’s work is to develop a system of knowledge among students in the fields of land, environmental, energy, agrarian, and natural resource law; to train highly qualified scientific and academic personnel; and to participate in the university’s research activities.

The department offers the following courses: Land Law; Environmental Law; Natural Resource Law of Ukraine; Tourism Law; Legal Support of Agricultural business; Protection of Land Rights; Protection of Environmental Rights; Issues of Legal Liability for Agrarian, Land, and Environmental Offenses; Environmental Management; Current Issues of Agrarian and Land Relations in Ukraine; Environmental Safety Law; Alternative Energy Law; Energy Law; Sustainable Development Management; Public Administration in the Field of Agriculture.

The content of these courses focuses on developing students’ theoretical understanding and practical skills in the areas of land, environmental, energy, agrarian, and natural resource law, as well as alternative energy law. It includes the study of legislation, the organization of civil service in these areas, and the priorities for reforming Ukrainian legislation and legal practice.

The department’s scientific potential is actively applied in specific research and practical projects for executive authorities, notaries, lawyers, prosecutors, courts, customs and tax authorities, and local self-government bodies, among others.

The set of courses is tailored to the specific needs of each faculty of the National University «Odesa Law Academy».
