The Department of Cyber security is a part of the Faculty of Cyber security and Information Technologies of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" and provides full-time training within the educational programs "Cybersecurity", "Data Analysis and Protection" and "IT Management and Marketing".

The main goal of the department activity is high-quality training of students, which involves the application of security measures to ensure confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, timely detection, prevention and neutralization of real and potential threats, as well as introduction of modern information technologies into the university educational process.

The department teaches the following courses: Cybersecurity; Data Protection; Cybersecurity Threat Search; Cybersecurity Management and Organizational Support; Complex Information Security Systems; System Audit and Intrusion Detection; Study of Technical Protection and Access Control Systems; Information Technical Protection; Cryptography; Cryptanalysis and others.

The academic disciplines focus on training specialists in cybersecurity who are able to implement modern information technologies, protection measures and information security analysis. Besides, considerable attention is given to the study and practical application of information security technologies in the development of database management systems, network software and Internet services, data transfer and encryption protocols. In addition, some of the disciplines acquaints students with certification methods, examination and special research of cyber protection means and systems, along with the methods of detecting and blocking threats as well as obtaining evidence of unauthorized access to information.

The staff of the Department and students take part in the activities of the laboratory of robotics and information technologies, specialized laboratory of KeepSolid and other divisions of the Faculty of Cybersecurity and Information Technologies. The lecturers of the department, together with practicians, act as mentors for project groups.
