The Fulbright Scholarship Programme, sponsored by the U.S. government and administered by the Institute of International Education (IIE), is a major player in the international education system.

Over the 75-year history of the programme, more than 400,000 university graduates, teachers, scholars and researchers, professionals and artists have been awarded Fulbright scholarships.

The scholarship is awarded to conduct research at universities, research centres, and cultural institutions in the United States for a period of three to nine months. Areas of specialisation: humanities, social sciences, sciences, engineering and natural sciences.

The following competitions are held annually:

- Fulbright Graduate Student Exchange Programme (deadline for application: 16 May 2024)

- Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Programme (application deadline: 30 June 2024)

- Fulbright Visiting Scholar Programme (application deadline: 15 October 2024)

- Fulbright Research and Development Programme (application deadline: 01 November 2024)
