A competition for the Digital Humanism Fellowship has been announced. This is an opportunity to work on your research in the field of digitalisation and humanities or social sciences for three months at the Institute for Humanities Research in Vienna (Austria).

The scholarship is organised by the Institute for Humanities Research Vienna (IWM) and funded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Climate Protection, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology.

Terms and conditions.

PhD students will receive a stipend of EUR 3,000 per month, and candidates currently pursuing a PhD degree will receive a stipend of EUR 2,500 per month to cover the costs of accommodation, food, travel, health insurance and any other incidental expenses related to their stay in Vienna. In addition, the IIP provides fellows with office space with Internet access, in-house research and administrative facilities, as well as free lunches and other services.

Eligibility.

This fellowship is for scholars who are currently pursuing or have already received a PhD in the humanities or social sciences after 2020.

How to apply

Applications are submitted via the IIR online form.

The application materials consist of the following:

- Completed application form.

- CV, including a list of publications.

- Description of the research project - up to 550 characters.

- Project proposal: purpose, methods, field of science and implementation plan - up to 7,500 characters.

- A motivation letter explaining how your stay at the university will help you achieve the specific goals of your research.

- Two letters of recommendation.

Selection.

Finalists are selected by an expert jury. Applicants will be notified of the jury's decision in the autumn semester of 2024.
