The Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) is now accepting applications for its highly regarded Internship Programme. This opportunity offers outstanding undergraduate and graduate students the chance to engage with cutting-edge research in the fields of international law, comparative public law, and European law.

Recognized as a premier research institution, MPIL provides interns the opportunity to work alongside leading experts and immerse themselves in a vibrant intellectual community. Interns will not only participate in research activities but also contribute to the preparation of academic meetings, legal summaries, and conferences. Programme Highlights:

  • Duration: Internships typically last between 8 and 12 weeks.
  • Stipend: A monthly reimbursement of €450 is available for students enrolled in a degree programme.
  • Full-time Commitment: Interns work 39.5 hours per week in a collaborative, research-focused environment.
  • Tutorship: Interns are assigned a research fellow as a tutor, who will guide them through tailored research projects.

Interns will contribute to the vibrant academic life of MPIL, participating in weekly research meetings and international conferences. This educational experience is full-time and designed for top students in law or related disciplines.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Enrolment in a full-time undergraduate or graduate programme.
  • Strong academic performance and demonstrated research skills.
  • Proficiency in English (C1 level); knowledge of additional EU languages, particularly German, is an asset.
