General information about the programme

"MEVLANA" is an academic mobility programme aimed at the exchange of students and teachers between Turkish higher education institutions and universities from other countries. Students can study in Turkey for one (minimum) or two (maximum) semesters, and academic staff can give lectures for a period of one week (minimum) to three months (maximum). The courses studied by the student at the host institution, if previously agreed upon in the framework of the study agreement, are re-credited at his/her home university.

IF YOU ARE A STUDENT

The exchange period consists of at least one and maximum two terms. The calculation of terms can be reviewed by considering the education system. However, the total exchange period should not exceed one academic year (only one term is funded).

Students studying in the preparatory or first year of a bachelor's or master's degree, as well as PhD students and doctoral students studying in preparatory or research preparatory terms, cannot benefit from this programme during the first year in which they have started their initial studies.

IF YOU ARE A LECTURER OR STAFF MEMBER

This mobility includes teaching and training activities in another higher education institution.

The periods of mobility of academic staff should be one week at a time in one academic year only.

Within the framework of mobility, the academic staff's teaching activities may not be less than 6 hours per week. When calculating the hourly activity performed by an academic staff member, courses are taken into account. If the course is less than 6 hours, academic activities such as seminars, panel discussions or conferences are evaluated in this context.
