On November 19, 2021, the Department of International and European Law of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" held the All-Ukrainian Scientific Student Conference "INTERNATIONAL LAW IN TURBULENT INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS".
The conference was opened by Oleksandr Bigniak, Doctor of Law, Professor, Head of the Department of International and European Law of the National University "Odesa Law Academy", Malvina Grushko, PhD, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of International and European Law of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" (moderator of the event) and invited guests Yulia Zaichenko, Senior Project Manager of the Reforms Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and Tetiana Drakokhrist, Head of the NGO "Educational Start", Doctor of Law, Associate Professor, Associate Professor of the Department of International Law and Migration Policy of the Western Ukrainian National University.
Taking care of the safety of participants in connection with COVID-19, the All-Ukrainian Conference was held on the Zoom platform, so students from different universities in Ukraine were able to join the scientific discussion. In particular, students from Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Western Ukrainian National University, Sumy National University, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics, I. I. Mechnikov National University of Odesa, International Humanitarian and Economic University, International University of the Kyiv Polytechnic, International University of the Kharkiv Polytechnic, and other universities joined the scientific discourse and discussion of the most pressing and relevant issues of public international law, European Union law, and private international law.
The discussions focused on the protection of human rights, especially during armed conflicts, the participation and status of international organisations, international criminal law, international security law, liability in international law, space and air law, international economic and development law, European Union law and private international law. The event brought together more than a hundred participants.
The All-Ukrainian Scientific Student Internet Conference "International Law in the Period of International Relations Turbulence" was held as part of the Jean Monnet module "The EU as a Global Actor and Agent of Change".
