The participants of the lecture course “The Right to Asylum in European Union” by Professor Bruce T. Leimsidor (University Ca’ Foscari, Venice, Italy) were awarded the certificates on March 28, 2017.
The lectures were held from March 21 to March 28, 2017 and were organized in the framework of the educational project of the University "Law School of European Union".The course was attended by more than 25 undergraduate students and PhD students of the University.
In his lectures, Professor Bruce T. Leimsidor was focused on specific features of legal regulation of asylum in EU member states, as well as on the analysis of the latest resonant decisions of EU bodies aimed at regulating migration.
Professor Bruce T. Leimsidor also presented an overview lecture for students of the innovative master's program in international and European law created within the frameworks of TEMPUS IV projects“Development of Master's Program in European and International Law in East Europe “InterEULawEast”.
Professor Bruce T. Leimsidorpaid special attention to the visit of Law Clinics, where he had an opportunity to learn the organization of free legal aid to internally displaced persons among Ukrainian citizens and refugees among foreign citizens.
During his stay in Odessa, Professor Bruce T. Leimsidortook part in IX Competition "Foreign Languages and Legal Career" as a member of the jury. He said that he was impressed by students whodemonstrated high level of not only English but also other foreign languages.
Professor Bruce T. Leimsidor expressed his wish to give a lecture course again at our university in 2018.
Professor Bruce T. Leimsidor is a recognized international expert with more than 40 years of experience in the field of migration management in international governmental and non-governmental organizations, migration bodies of Venice.
