The European Parliament offers two types of internships: internships in the Secretariat (Schuman internships) and internships with MEPs

  • Internship in the Secretariat - Schuman Programme internship

Schuman internships are paid and can take place in one of the official workplaces of the European Parliament - Brussels, Luxembourg and Strasbourg - or in its liaison offices in the Member States.

A Schuman internship will enhance your education and professional training. It will give you the opportunity to learn about the work of the EU institutions and the European Parliament, which is an important forum for decision-making and political debate at the EU level.

Internships are available in a wide range of fields, such as EU internal and external policy, finance, law, multilingualism, administration, infrastructure and logistics, communications and information technology.

The Schuman internship programme will last five months. The internship period is 1 October - 28/29 February.

The application period is from 1 to 31 May

  • Internship with Members of the European Parliament

Members of the European Parliament can offer paid internships in their offices in the European Parliament in Brussels (or Strasbourg) on the basis of an agreement with the European Parliament.

To apply, you need to contact MEPs directly. The duration of the internship ranges from six weeks to five consecutive months and is determined by the MEP who appoints the internship. The internship can start at any time during the year.

Interns receive a monthly stipend of between €921 and €1,510 for full-time internships.
