STEP ELSA trainees Silvia Otinetti (Italy) and Emeline Loris (Belgium) held online conferences with students of NU "OLA" as part of the English lectures course. The problem of forming the European Court of Human Rights, taking into account the requirements of gender equality and the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court, was discussed.
The expansion of the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court was discussed to give an idea of how the ICC can investigate crimes committed in the territory of a State that is not a signatory to the Rome Statute, as well as the problem of selecting a new generation of judges for the European Court of Human Rights.
Thanks to such activities, we improve the competence of students at the National University "Odessa Law Academy" in the field of jurisprudence and provide valuable theoretical information. This is an unforgettable experience and a unique opportunity to communicate with professionals from other countries in their native language.
