Coordinator of OSCE projects in Ukraine since November 2018. e.c. Ambassador Henrik Villadsen, together with representatives of the OSCE Office, Head of the Rule of Law Department Aleksandr Vodyannikov, and National Program Manager for Legal Reform Issues Vitaliy Gatselyuk, visited the National University «Odessa Law Academy».
The purpose of the visit: familiarization with the activities of the university for the training and advanced training of specialists in the field of law, consideration of the prospects for further cooperation.
At a meeting with the President of the University, Academician Sergei Kivalov, Ambassador Villadsen was acquainted with the promising areas of the university's activities in the context of training and advanced training of investigators of the State Bureau of Investigation, raising the level of awareness of specialists in the field of civil and criminal justice with the practice of the European Court of Human Rights, countering computer crimes by the Faculty of Cybersecurity, creation of a system of assistance and monitoring for victims of COVID 19 in cooperation with the International Humanitarian University.
During the excursion around the university, Mr. Ambassador got acquainted with the work of the main departments, visited the library and the reading room, met with English-speaking university students and representatives of ELSA Odessa, visited the Museum of Rare Books and the Museum of Weapons, got acquainted with the activities of the offices of forensic science, polygraph, electronic workplace of the investigator, COVID 19 testing, primary care and monitoring systems.
The implementation of projects of judicial reform, education in the field of human rights, combating crime is constantly in the focus of the Coordinator. The efforts and successes achieved by the National University "Odessa Law Academy" have met with a positive response and approval from Ambassador Villadsen. An agreement was reached on the continuation of joint work between the office of the OSCE Project Coordinator in Ukraine and the National University «Odessa Law Academy».
