Between September 26 and September 29, 2023, the International Relations Department of the National University of Odesa Law Academy hosted a lecture series on "Criminal Law in Practice" by Jillian Boone, an American lawyer and lecturer from Ohio State University.
During the lectures, students were taught about the judicial systems and jurisdictions of the US states, the various stages of the criminal process (pre-trial proceedings, negotiations between the parties, trial, sentencing and serving the sentence).
Despite the online format of the lectures, the students actively participated in the discussions and shared their knowledge of the Ukrainian experience of legislative regulation of criminal procedure with the lecturer.
