In order to provide up-to-date and systematic information on the procedure for exercising the right to international academic mobility and current exchange programmes for students and teachers, an online seminar on "International Academic Mobility under Martial Law" was held on 1 November 2023. The speaker: Daria Minchenko, PhD in Law, Attorney at Law, LLM in International Business Law at Queen Mary University of London, Associate Professor of Civil Law, Head of the International Relations Department of the National University of Odesa Law Academy.

The seminar was organised by the Academic and Methodological Council of the NU"OLA", and was attended by the faculty and students of the National University "Odesa Law Academy".

International academic mobility is an opportunity for participants in the educational process to study, teach, do internships or conduct research in another higher education institution (research institution) outside Ukraine. Its benefits include improving the quality of education and science, acquiring new professional skills, advanced training in the context of global trends in the development of science, and increasing the country's intellectual potential.

In accordance with the Procedure for Exercising the Right to Academic Mobility, approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 579 dated 12.08.2015, the forms of academic mobility include studying under educational programmes, language training, educational and scientific internships, research, participation in joint educational and/or scientific projects, participation in seminars, conferences, etc. The procedure for academic mobility is regulated by the Regulation on Academic Mobility of Participants in the Educational Process of the National University "Odesa Law Academy".

The speaker provided information on the most common international academic mobility programmes, which include, in particular

- Bilateral agreements on cooperation between educational institutions

- Interinstitutional agreements under the ERASMUS+ KA1, KA2, Jean Monnet programme

- MEVLANA exchange programme

- Fulbright Scholarship Programme in Ukraine (USA)

- DAAD scholarship programme (Germany)

- Mitacs scholarship programme (Canada)

- Governmental scholarships of foreign countries, special programmes for Ukrainian applicants and researchers

- Horizon, Chevening, Twinning, USAID, UNOPS, UNDP, ELSA and many other programmes.

In addition, every year, the ERASMUS+ programme holds competitions for semester studies for students and internships for teachers with the support of the European Union.

The purpose of international academic mobility is the internationalisation of educational and scientific activities, which is in line with the Strategy for the Development of Higher Education in Ukraine for 2022-2032, and the National University "Odesa Law Academy" provides opportunities for academic exchange and promotes cooperation with foreign higher education institutions and research institutions and the representation of the Odesa School in the international arena.
