On 22 February 2024, Professor Enrico Albanesi, Professor of the Department of Constitutional Law at the University of Genoa (Italy), researcher and co-leader of the IALS Legal Reform Project at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), University of London, visited the National University of Odesa Law Academy.
Rector of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" Oleh Todoshchak and Head of the International Relations Office Daria Minchenko met with the professor. During the meeting, they expressed gratitude for the support of Ukrainian education and science in difficult times for Ukraine and discussed areas of further cooperation with the University of Genoa.
Professor Albanesi gave a lecture for the students and faculty of the University on "Constitutional reform in Italy: challenges and expectations". With the participation of the academic staff of the Department of Constitutional Law, the Department of International and European Law and the Department of Criminal Law, all those present had the opportunity to take an active part in the discussion on "Constitutional Courts as an instrument of political struggle". Mr Albanesi is a renowned expert in the field of constitutional justice, including the impact of EU and European law on the processes taking place at the level of national legal systems.
Professor Albanesi was pleasantly surprised by the material and technical facilities of the National University "Odesa Law Academy", the deep level of knowledge of the constitutional law of European countries of our students, their interest in gaining new knowledge and ideas, as well as the high level of professional English among students.
The National University "Odesa Law Academy" has fruitful scientific relations and constantly cooperates with European higher education institutions, which allows our students to regularly attend lectures by foreign professors and gain foreign experience.
