On 15 March 2024, the National University "Odesa Law Academy" hosted a meeting with writer, journalist and political analyst Paul Hockenos (USA) with the students of the university.

Paul Hockenos is a writer, journalist and political analyst based in Berlin and New York, working in Germany and Central and Eastern Europe. His work has been published in The New York Times, Newsweek, The Nation, Foreign Policy, New Statesman, The Christian Science Monitor and The Chronicle of Higher Education.

Paul Hockenos writes on renewable energy and the climate crisis, is the author of five books on European relations, has worked for Foreign Policy, The Guardian Newsweekly and Internationale Politik, and was a fellow at the American Academy in Berlin.

The event was held with the support of Head of International Relations Daria Minchenko and Professor Viacheslav Tuliakov for higher education students majoring in Philology at the Faculty of Civil and Commercial Justice and the faculty of the Department of Foreign Languages.

The participants had the opportunity to listen to a lecture, take part in a discussion on the topic "US Elections and the Role of Language in International Politics" and ask topical questions related to US politics.

The National University "Odesa Law Academy" creates all the conditions for students to gain knowledge from foreign experts and gain experience in communicating with native English speakers.
