On 12 September 2024, a delegation of lawyers from France and Moldova visited the National University “Odesa Law Academy”:

During the meeting with the President of the University, Academician Sergiy Kivalov, the participants discussed the issues of cooperation with French and Moldovan colleagues and the possibility of internships for the students of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” with French lawyers.
The roundtable with the participation of advocates of Odesa region, students and lecturers of the University was opened by the acting Head of the Bar Council of Odesa region Olena Dzhaburiia and the Rector of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” Oleg Todoshchak.
The President of the Bar Council of the Hauts-de-Seine region in Paris Isabelle Clanet dit Lamanit spoke about the peculiarities of practicing law in Paris, and the Chair of the International Relations Committee of the French Bar Council Marie-Aimée Peyron expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian lawyers and support for Ukraine at the present time and spoke about the peculiarities of the functioning of the bar self-government bodies in France. The Chairman of the Chisinau Bar Council Alexandru Turcan also expressed his support for the Ukrainian advocates and readiness to cooperate with the Ukrainian colleagues.
In turn, Nataliia Rudnytska, the Head of the CDQA in Odesa Region, spoke about the peculiarities of the functioning of the qualification and disciplinary chambers in the Bar, and Nana Bakayanova, the Head of the Disciplinary Committee of the Bar Council of Odesa Region, Head of the Department of Organisation of Judicial, Law Enforcement and Bar of the National University "Odesa Law Academy”, spoke about the achievements of the Odesa School of Advocacy and the improvement of the Rules of Professional Conduct.
The participants of the roundtable discussed the similarities and differences between legal education and access to the legal profession in France and Ukraine and the expediency of borrowing the French experience in regulating the legal profession.
The delegation visited the scientific library of the National University “Odesa Law Academy”, where they got acquainted, in particular, with the exhibitions of documents in the reading room "Lawyers - True Knights of Justice" and "The French in Odesa", as well as "French book monuments of the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in the funds of the scientific library of the National University of Law" in the Museum of Rare Books.
Colleagues from France and Moldova also got acquainted with the high-quality material and technical base of our university, in particular, they visited a specialised forensic laboratory - a certified polygraph testing centre, and had the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of the training programme "Automated Workplace of Investigator and Detective" and make a sketch.
The event was attended by Head of the International Relations Office Daria Minchenko, Dean of the Faculty of Advocacy and Anti-Corruption Activity Yevhen Khyzhniak, as well as students and academic staff of the National University "Odesa Law Academy".
