In the academic year 2023-2024, Larysa Bielik, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Criminalistics, Detective and Operational Investigative Activities, completed an international academic mobility programme at the Central Swedish University (Sweden). As part of this programme, Larysa took part in the research project ‘Corporate Crime Prevention: Priority Conditions for Strategic Development’, which aims to study the impact of crime on small and medium-sized businesses in Sweden.

The study revealed a significant impact of crime on business activities, which is particularly evident in small and medium-sized enterprises. As a result of the research, Larysa Belik, together with Professor Teresa Silva, the project leader, prepared a scientific report that presents the findings and offers recommendations for reducing business risks.

In addition to her research activities, Larysa Belik has given several lectures to students at the Central Swedish University. The topics of her speeches were ‘Tactical and psychological techniques for detecting disinformation during interrogation’ and ‘Research of verbal and non-verbal communication to detect lies’. These lectures became part of the educational programme and received positive feedback. Videos of the lectures are available on the university's website.

The international academic mobility programme allowed Larysa Belik to significantly expand her scientific contacts, gain new experience and continue her research in the framework of international cooperation. This stage was an important step in the development of her academic career and research activities, strengthening ties with foreign colleagues and expanding her horizons in the field of forensic science.
