The National University "Odessa Law Academy" proudly announces that Doctor of Law, Professor, and Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Legal Sciences of Ukraine, Vyacheslav Oleksiyovych Tuliakov, has been reinstated on the list of ad hoc judges of the European Court of Human Rights for 2025 to participate in cases on behalf of Ukraine.
Vyacheslav Oleksiyovych is one of the leading scholars in the fields of criminal law and human rights, having progressed within our university from an Аssociate professor to Doctor of Law, Professor, Vice-Rector for International Relations, and Honored Scientist of Ukraine. His scholarly output includes over 380 publications; he has supervised 5 doctoral and 26 candidate dissertations and actively promotes best practices in legal protection and jurisprudence at both national and international levels.
The continuation of Professor Tuliakov’s status as an ad hoc judge of the European Court of Human Rights is not only a high professional honor and recognition of his many years of work, academic integrity, and principled commitment to the values of the rule of law — it also confirms the quality of professional training provided by the National University "Odessa Law Academy." According to the rules of the ECHR, an ad hoc judge is involved when the national judge is unable to participate in a case, bearing the responsibility to ensure an independent, impartial, and conscientious consideration of cases in the interests of Ukraine and its citizens.
The staff of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" sincerely congratulates Vyacheslav Oleksiyovych on this significant achievement and wishes him continued success in serving the cause of protecting human rights and freedoms, upholding the principles of justice and law both in Ukraine and at the European level.
