The right to international academic mobility can be exercised by participants in the educational process, as well as by employees of the University based on cooperation agreements with foreign educational institutions (research institutions) and on their own initiative, subject to a positive decision of the head of the University, made based on an application and an individual invitation from a foreign educational institution (research institution).

A person acquires the status of a participant in academic mobility from the moment the decision of the head of the University is made in the form of an order. From this moment on, such a person is subject to all the rights and obligations of a Ukrainian participant, as defined by the Regulations on Academic Mobility of Participants in the Educational Process of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 579.

For students:

No later than 7 working days before the start of the international academic mobility programme, the following documents must be submitted to the International Relations Department:

  • an application addressed to the Head of the University with visa approvals from the Dean of the Faculty / Director of the Institute and the Head of the International Relations Department;
  • invitation letter and its official translation into Ukrainian;
  • individual academic mobility agreement;
  • a mobility agreement between the University, the Participant and the partner institution (to be drawn up if necessary);
  • an individual curriculum of academic mobility approved by the dean of the faculty/director of the educational and research institute/institute (to be drawn up if necessary)

After the positive decision of the head of the University is made, an academic mobility agreement is concluded between the Participant and the University and an administrative document (order on the exercise of the right to academic mobility) is issued, which defines the purpose, duration, conditions (including financial) of the Participant's academic mobility programme.

The Participant of the mobility programme is responsible for the timely registration of departure abroad in accordance with the terms specified in the invitation.

If the Participant is a minor, the academic mobility agreement is concluded with one of his/her parents or a person who is his/her legal representative.

Upon completion of the academic mobility programme, higher education students shall submit a copy of the document certifying the results of the academic mobility programme (certificate, diploma, academic transcript, Transcript of Records, etc.) for the entire period of study, indicating the names of educational components, total number of hours, number of ECTS credits and grades, information on the Participant's academic achievement assessment system to the dean/director of the faculty/institute and the International Relations Department within three working days.

For the purpose of timely recognition of learning outcomes under educational academic mobility programmes, higher education students are obliged to submit an application for completion of academic mobility within three working days after completion of academic mobility. The application is submitted to the dean/director of the faculty/institute and the head of the international relations department.

Forms of academic mobility for participants who obtain a professional junior bachelor's, bachelor's, bachelor's, master's degree:

- studying under educational (educational and professional) credit or degree academic mobility programmes;

- language internship (improving the level of practical knowledge of a foreign language in a particular professional activity or field of knowledge);

- educational and scientific internship (activities aimed at gaining practical experience based on research and the formation of new professional competencies in psychological and pedagogical, research, organisational and managerial activities within a particular speciality/field of knowledge);

- scientific internship;

- practice (gaining experience of professional activity in the field of future, existing, related speciality under the guidance of employees of an educational institution (scientific institution) in order to form professional competences and skills in real, including production, conditions for making independent decisions in practical activities, mastering methods, forms of organisation and means of work in a particular professional activity or field of knowledge);

- other forms (participation in seminars, conferences, speeches and publications within a particular speciality/field of knowledge, etc.) that do not contradict the law and meet the requirements established by CMU Resolution No. 579.

For academic staff:

No later than 7 working days before the start of the international academic mobility programme, the following documents must be submitted to the International Relations Department

  • an application addressed to the Head of the University with visa approvals from the Dean of the Faculty / Director of the Institute and the Head of the International Relations Department;
  • invitation letter and its official translation into Ukrainian;
  • individual academic mobility agreement;
  • schedule of replacement of classes;
  • a mobility agreement between the University, the Participant and the partner institution (to be drawn up if necessary).

After the positive decision of the Head of the University is made, an academic mobility agreement is concluded between the Participant and the University and an administrative document (order for foreign travel) is issued, which defines the purpose, duration, conditions (including financial) of the Participant's academic mobility programme.

After completion of the academic mobility programme, research, teaching, pedagogical and other employees within ten working days submit to the Head of the Department and the International Relations Department a copy of the document certifying the results of academic mobility (certificate, diploma, certificate, etc.) and a report for the period of mobility, which should contain

- a description of the educational and scientific work carried out during the academic mobility (participation in classes, seminars, conferences, prepared scientific publications, etc;)

- formulation of the prospects for further cooperation with the higher education institution (research institution (relevant faculty, department, etc.) in which the academic mobility took place.

The report submitted to the International Relations Department must be approved by the minutes of the department meeting.

The results of the participation of teachers in international academic mobility programmes are published on the University website.

Forms of academic mobility for participants who obtain the degree of Doctor of Philosophy / Doctor of Arts, Doctor of Science or are pedagogical, scientific and pedagogical, scientific, other employees of an educational institution (scientific institution):

- participation in credit academic mobility programmes for academic mobility participants who are obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy/Doctor of Arts degree;

- participation in joint educational and/or research projects (activities as part of a temporary project team formed for a certain period of time to achieve the goal and objectives of a particular educational or research project at the expense of a grant provided to partner institutions);

- teaching;

- internship;

- scientific research;

- scientific internship;

- language internship;

- advanced training;

- other forms (participation in seminars, conferences, speeches and publications within a particular speciality/field of knowledge, etc.) that do not contradict the law.
