Monitoring of the TEMPUS IV Project “Development of Master Programme in European and International Law in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast” was held at the National University “Odessa Law Academy” by the National Erasmus+ Office in Ukraine on November 5, 2015.

The representatives of the University of Zagreb (Croatia, the University Coordinator of the project), the University of Marіbor (Slovenia), National University «Odessa Law Academy» (National Project Coordinator in Ukraine) and Donetsk National University attended the monitoring.

During monitoring, the participants discussed the interim results of the project as well as the difficulties and risks in the post-project period. In particular, it was noted that the University has developed an innovative curriculum for the Master's program (with the implementation during 2016/2017 academic year); University received equipment for interactive classes amounting to over 20,000 euros; University teachers took advanced training at the European universities; University Library has replenished by electronic textbooks on EU law amounting to more than EUR 2,000; several university students received an opportunity to go through a pilot study for a semester at the University of Zagreb.

In the framework of the project TEMPUS IV «Supporting innovation byimproving the regulatory and legal framework for higher education inUkraine» (SpinOff) based on the Lund University (Sweden) in the period from 29 September to 1 October 2015 it was held the final coordinationmeeting, which was attended by representatives of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" - Vice-President, Vice-Rector forInternational Relations Tulyakov Vyacheslav A. and Head of Research ofthe Dmitry G. Mikhailenko.

The event took place in the presentation format, where eachinstitution participating in the project could report on the resultsobtained, the achievements and the basic directions of the furtherimplementation of innovation.

Speaking about the results obtained by the National University "OdessaLaw Academy", Professor Tulyakov invited the two presentations.

As part of the project TEMPUS IV «Support of Innovations Through Improvement of Regulatory and Legal Framework of Higher Education in Ukraine" multimedia equipment has been installed in two specialized classrooms. One specialized audience is located at the Faculty of Civil and Economic Justice, the other - at the Faculty of Advocacy.

Specialized audiences will be used primarily by students who are enrolled in master's degree with an appropriate specialization.

Using the specialized audiences will promote and deepen knowledge in the field of commercialization of innovations not only among students, graduate students, teachers of the National University "Odessa Academy of Law", but also among the representatives of other universities of Odessa region and the public.

Establishment of specialized classrooms is intended to ensure sustainable development of the project in the future.

National University "Odessa Law Academy" as part of the TEMPUS program “European and International Law Master programme Development in Eastern Europe – InterEULawEast” 544117-TEMPUS-1-2013-1-HR-TEMPUS-JPCR conducts an open competition for the most talented selection and motivated students.

Requirements:

To be a student, citizen of Ukraine who at 01.09.2015 are full time 4th year students and plan to continue their study in the 2016/2017 academic year on the Master program at the National University "Odessa Law Academy".

Stages of the competition:
2.1. The preparatory phase (June 1 - September 1, 2015) includes public information campaigns, ads on the conditions of competition.
2.2. Admission and registration documents contenders (1-30 September 2015).
2.3. Qualifying phase (1-31 October 2015) includes a preliminary review of the competitive commission tenders students.
2.4. The final phase (1-15 November 2015) provides for ocular interviews among the competitor who passed the qualifying stage of the competition.
2.5. Announcement of results (16 November 2015).

8, July, 2015 it was conducted the meeting of the Scientific Council of the National University “Odesa Law Academy” devoted to the implementation of the Master Program developed within “European and International Law Master Programme Development in Eastern Europe - InterEULawEast” TEMPUS program.

In his welcome speech Vice – Rector for International Relations, coordinator of the project realization at the National University “Odesa Law Academy” Professor Tuliakov stressed an innovative character of the Program, its accordance to European standards. Also he underlined, that implementation of the program with European standards will allow as a result performing double diplomas jointly with higher educational institutions of the EU countries.

Head of the Department of International Law and International Relations Assistant Professor Pashkovskyi in his report performed a presentation of curriculum of future Master program. He noted also innovation of its form and content.

April 30, 2015 within the framework an TEMPUS IV project «Supporting innovation by  improving the regulatory framework for higher education in Ukraine"", Department of Economic Law and Economic Law and Procedure organized a roundtable on "The applicability of the American experience of alternativedispute resolution in Ukraine”

The round table was attended by students, graduate students, teachers who are interested in mediation as a form of alternative dispute resolution. As an expert was invited to an American lawyer George Finkle, has twenty-five years experience in alternative dispute resolution. Particular emphasis was placed on the resolution of disputes in the area of ​​innovative projects, and investment in innovative projects

April 20-25, 2015, in the framework of the project TEMPUS IV «Supportof innovations through improvement of regulatory framework for higher education in Ukraine" at the Polytechnic Institute of Porto (Portugal) it was held presentation of innovative projects based onthe experience and practice of the EU in the field of commercialization of the results research by university scientists andgraduate students.

The National University "Odessa Law Academy" were presented by thehead of the Department of Economic Law and Procedure prof., Doctor oflaw Podtserkovnyi O.  and assistant of the Department of Economic Lawand Procedure Alekseeva I.

On 20-25thof April a team of National University «Odessa Academy of Law»with Members: Associate professor of Commercial Law & Procedure DepartmentMr. Mikhail Kartuzov and 5-year student of the Faculty of Civil and Economic Justice Martha Shynkar, took part in the competition of innovation projects carried out in the Gdańsk University of Technology (Poland) in the framework of the European Union – Tempus «Supporting innovation by improving the regulatory framework for higher education in Ukraine». The competition was also attended by the team of the National Technical University of Oil and Gas (Ivano-Frankivsk), National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine (Dnipropetrovsk) and the National University of Economics and Trade of M. Tugan-Baranowski (Donetsk).

The team of National University «Odessa Law Academy» won the competition.

Presented by our team project «Distance Learning Center» is designed to provide services of distance learning for students (law degree), as well as for legal practitioners (professional courses), who are unable to study at the campus due to work commitments, family circumstances, by virtue of residence in another locality.

Representatives of the National University "Odessa Law Academy" Koval D. and Pysmenna V. participated in one of the series of events of TEMPUS project, hosted by the University of Lund. The university was foundedin the XVII century to promote Swedish culture and education in the territory, formerly ruled by the Danish Kingdom. After three and a half centuries, Lund continues to be the hallmark of consistently high quality of Swedish higher education. 45,000 students each year fillthis town with energy and new ideas. These ideas make Swedish first positionsin the European and world innovation ratings possible.

The event that hosted the representatives of the Odessa Law Academy, was aimed to present of the successful experience of entrepreneurship education at Lund University. The concept of this educationdiffer a lot from the Ukrainian one. Studentsgets some portion of theoretical information during the classes. However, for the most part, they perform practical tasks, and starts to build own business from collegebench under the guidance of supervisors.
