On 31 August 2023, the National University "Odesa Law Academy" and the State Archives of Odesa Region solemnly signed a cooperation agreement.

In accordance with the main provisions of the document, the parties have identified areas of research activity, as well as planned to systematically conduct scientific and communicative events of an educational, cultural and scientific nature. The agreement was signed at the National University "Odesa Law Academy" and was the result of many years of contacts.

Thanks to the joint efforts of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" and the ERASMUS+ project CRIMHUM to improve the quality of education in the field of criminal justice, the library of the National University "Odesa Law Academy" has replenished its book collection.

Within the framework of the CRIMHUM project, which received financial support from the European Union, the library provided an opportunity for in-depth research and training of students and teachers in the field of criminal law and procedure, which is reflected in the new acquisition of literature.

A new collective monograph published in Poland by a team of scholars from Vilnius University and leading experts from Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, and Odesa.

Ukraine faces significant challenges in its legal system, in particular, related to corruption and judicial reform, restitution and reparations. However, there are also opportunities for positive change, such as integration into the EU, attracting foreign investment, and using legal technology to modernize the legal sector. Ukraine needs to continue its efforts to overcome these challenges and seize opportunities for legal reform and development.

Recently, the National University "Odesa Law Academy" held a solemn ceremony of awarding certificates of successful completion of the course of studying legal disciplines in English.

The National University "Odesa Law Academy" is a recognised leader in the field of higher education in Ukraine and has been training highly professional specialists in various fields for 25 years. The University is a member of the European University Association and cooperates with the most prestigious higher education institutions around the world. The university's participation in the European Union's ERASMUS+ programme, which aims to support activities in the field of education, retraining, youth and sports, opens up significant opportunities for students. The main goal of the CRIMHUM project within the ERASMUS+ programme was to create a comprehensive Master's programme aimed at in-depth study of current human rights issues.

On 7 June 2023, the National University "Odesa Law Academy" hosted the first student performance in English "Enola Holmes and Dance with Death", prepared by the students of the speciality 035 "Philology" of the Faculty of Civil and Commercial Justice and the Department of Foreign Languages.

On 23 May 2023, the National University "Odesa Law Academy" was visited by a Slovenian diplomat, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia to Ukraine, Mr Tomaž Mencin, together with his wife, Mrs Daria Zorko Mencin, as well as Doctor of Science, Professor of Cultural Studies, Head of the Centre for Research on Religion and Culture, Faculty of Social Sciences, University of Ljubljana (Slovenia), Mr Mitja Velikonja.

Institute of Directors' iconic hub, located just minutes from Piccadilly Circus, Westminster, and Trafalgar Square, played host to an international conference on 29-30 March 2023 under the auspices of the UK Home Office, Serious Organized Crime Network, and Global Initiative against Organized Crime. The conference, which focused on the illicit economy and conflict in Ukraine, offered evidence-based analysis and a holistic perspective on organized crime trends, with experts specializing in illicit trade networking and facilitating joint organized crime threat assessments in Europe.

The institutional approach to criminalization/decriminalization considers the various factors that contribute to the creation and application of criminal norms in different societies. Strong democracies tend to have lower crime rates than autocratic societies. This is because strong democracies tend to have a higher level of respect for the rule of law, which means greater adherence to legal norms and procedures.

“Ask the President of European parliament” was the event organized by IE University for students and faculty in Madrid on Friday, January 28.

On January 18, the IE University (Madrid) hosted an event that opened a new stage in the development of the School of Global and Public Affairs at IE University.

Representatives of the EU governing bodies, the Spanish government, the diplomatic corps, and the academic community gathered to present the new program of the School of Global and Public Affairs. The Odesa School of Law was represented by Professor Viacheslav Tuliakov, Professor of the Department of Criminal Law at the National University "Odesa Law Academy", visiting Professor at IE University, ad hoc judge of the European Court of Human Rights in favor of Ukraine.

On 25-29 October, the Faculty of Law and Political Science of the University of Ajax-Marseille (France) hosted an international conference within the framework of the CRIMHUM project "Modernisation of Master's Degree Programmes for Future Judges, Prosecutors, Investigators in line with European Human Rights Standards".

From October, 25 till 29, at the Faculty of Law and Political Science at the University of Ajax-Marseille, there has been held an international dissemination conference under the framework of the CRIMHUM project 'Modernization of master's programs for future judges, prosecutors, investigators, taking into account European human rights standards'.

On October 10, 2022, Thomas Ratka, the Professor of Corporate and European law, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Globalization at the University of Continuing Education Krems, has given a zoom-lecture on EU Company law at the National University `Odesa Law Aacademy`. Staff and students had an opportunity to attend the meeting.

We congratulate Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov, Department of Criminal Law, on his participation in the "Chance for Science in the meeting", which was held at the Lviv on September 23, 2022.

Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov delivered a presentation on the "The subsidiarity of criminalization within  the European Law".

Nowadays, the European Union faces many internal and external challenges. The most serious threat is the Russian aggression towards Ukraine. Russian policy undermines the stability within the continent. European politicians have to find the proper response and prevent Russia from breaching international law.

We congratulate Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov, Department of Criminal Law, on his participation in the "Chance for Science" conference, which was held at the University of Leipzig on September 12, 2022. Professor Vyacheslav Tulyakov delivered a presentation on the "Approximation of EU criminal law to UA legislation".

In today's world, media literacy plays an important role, since we all depend on the external information environment. Every day we come across a large number of facts, most of which are fakes, thanks to which they try to manipulate us in favour of the other's  interests. It is necessary to consider each message carefully and to be able to form one's own point of view on important legal and political issues. Dietmar Pichler's lecture will teach you how to spot fakes and effectively counter them.

On September 12, 2022, our University has hosted an Austrian economist Gunther Fehlinger, who gave a lecture to our students.
